4/2/2023 0 Comments Gotham knights co op![]() ![]() A playtest was allegedly added to Steam last month before being promptly removed - or hidden from public view, anyway.Īlthough no trace of it remains on Steam - and a Reddit post about the beta was similarly pulled from Reddit because the "automated bots think it might be spam" - details of the app remain for all to see on Steam DB, a website unaffiliated with Steam but monitors and shares information about the PC platform's backend. It's set to release on 25th October 2022. Montreal, and will be the team's first full release in more than eight years. Gotham Knights is the next game from Batman: Arkham Origins studio Warner Bros. Hopefully, we'll find out more next month at Summer Game Fest. The change makes sense given you can play as four characters - Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood or Robin - but up until now it had been promoted as featuring two-player co-op, and this discrepancy has some speculating that the four-player mode may be different from, or in addition to, the main campaign. Manage cookie settingsĪcutely aware that anyone can knock up a fake screenshot, I took the liberty of checking the PSN Store listing myself and yup, it's there in black and white, although the description itself curiously still says you can play "in solo-play or with one other hero and drop in on criminal activity wherever you find it". I love well implemented coop - but I’d rather have quality solo experience. It looks like Gotham Knights may be expanding its co-op plans to encompass four player co-op instead of just two. But anything that taxes resources and time and ultimately impacts the quality of the single-player experience. I’m a singleplayer kinda guy mostly, so I agree that making the best solo experience should be the FIRST priority. If you want them to go down fast, play on easy mode. Any action game with a scaling leveling systtem, has this issue. ![]() right? And the bullet sponge complaint is the same you can levy against any and all looter shooters as well. do know the Steam version is NOT locked to 30fps, right? Originally posted by Red Rum Cove:"Due to the types of features we have in our game, like providing a fully untethered co-op experience." Full stop. And I'll say it right now: This is Fallout 76 bad. It should never completely ruin the experience for everyone. Co-op is always a fun, optional experience. This release should be a shining example as to what priorities should be placed when developing a game at this point. Though there are four playable characters in the game Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood Gotham Knights only supports 2-player online. So again we have what was once an optional, fun addition becoming something that is literally destroying the entire experience. Best answer: Yes, Gotham Knight does have co-op. The other complaint that I've seen is that enemies are basically "bullet sponges" which is something that usually only happens when the game doesn't scale between co-op and single player. And if the choice was between pulling co-op and releasing a stable product, I'd rather see the stable product with co-op added later. But this studio obviously could not achieve that experience. That said, I have nothing against co-op games, especially when it's done right. I'm going to get some backlash here, because I know that a lot of people really want that co-op experience, but if we're literally releasing a broken product to achieve that, you're destroying the experience. Not if Batgirl can play in the same world at the same time as Robin. Listen, unless you're releasing an MMO or a game based solely on full co-op, releasing a fun, engaging, stable core experience should be your top priority. If you can't release a game at 60 fps on a next gen console, or require a GPU from NASA to do so on PC, Co-op needs to be an afterthought.
